Blixen has been mated with Ukko.
The puppies are expected to be born on week 11.
Puppies are ready to go to their new homes on week 18.
"Ukko" - "Blixen"
Our kennel breeds flat-coated retrievers in a home environment. The goal is to breed dogs with healthy structure in accordance with the breed standards. Our aim is to have dogs with strong prey drive, suitable physique for harsh hunting conditions, well-balanced character and good trainability.
Blixen x Ukko is our first litter. This interesting combination has been planned for a long time, starting from the time Blixen was only about a year old.
We expect healthy, good tempered puppies with a right kind of structure and energy for a working dog. Blixen has great speed and the right kind of toughness combined to good trainability and lovely nature. Ukko in turn has lots of will to please and is very easy to train. Blixen has the right kind of structure, though in a rather compact form:).
Ukko again represents an excellent flat by structure; none of his features are over-emphasized. His height is in the upper limit according to the breed standard ranges. Both dogs are healthy, as well as the known siblings and their parents and ancestors. Both have also excellent temperaments. The meaning of the character cannot be overstated, since the dog is most of his life a family member, despite how good working dog he is.
We’ve been privileged to have followed Ukko's life over the years in many different occasions. In addition, we have had the opportunity to see Ukko’s siblings, when we were invited as trainers to a puppy-meeting at Kennel Allt Om. At that time Ukko and his siblings were about two years old. We liked very much about what we saw and the idea of using Ukko as Blixen's fiancé was strengthened. The litter siblings who partisipated in training were very well-balanced, calm and willing to work.
Our aim is that the puppy owners would receive a longeval friend who corresponds to a flat-coated retriever’s breed standard completely and is suitable for multiple use in hunting, field trial and dog shows. The most we expect from the puppy owners is that the puppies will get a permanent home, where the flatcoat’s “inner life” is understood and the dog is being taking care of for it’s whole lifetime.
